Michelle was born and raised in The Netherlands and studied at Groningen University. She did her PhD in head and neck cancer at the Amsterdam Medical Centre. Before starting her career as a GP she specialised a few years in general medicine and ENT.

She came to NZ with her husband and three kids in 2021. She is enjoying the beach life, (kite) surfing, and travelling around the beautiful country with the campervan.

Currently, she is further specialising as a skin doctor.
