Kia Ora, my name is Charmaine McGillan. I am a HIP (health improvement practitioner) at Mount medical centre.
I have recently relocated to Tauranga with my husband and 3 daughters from Waiuku. I’m a bay girl at heart as I grew up in Whakatane & the back of the Motu Opotiki. My husband is also a bay lad from Edgecombe.
I am a comprehensive registered nurse with post graduate qualifications in mental health and addiction. My passion is mental health and addictions where I have 20 years experience. My background includes acute mental health inpatient unit, earlier mental health response triage team, maternal mental health and clinical nurse tutor.
My hobbies include fishing, boats, mustangs, genealogy, walking and enjoying nature in general especially the bush and beach. My goal for 2022 is to walk up the mount without pretending I am stopping to admire the view.
I look forward to working in partnership supporting the needs of individuals and whanau in the community. I am passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of individuals however small it may be.
